The EU

Google says the EU requires a notice of cookie use (by Google) and says they have posted a notice. I don't see it. If cookies bother you, go elsewhere. If the EU bothers you, emigrate. If you live outside the EU, don't go there.

Senator Boxer Mis-Remembers

For John, BLUFA Senator inventing her own facts.  She is a Democrat, so nothing to see here; just move along.

Washington Post headline:

Boxer rewrites budget history yet again.
It is Senator Barbara Boxer (D CA), but it is interesting that The Washington Post has called her out for getting her facts wrong on WHO balanced the budget in the 1990s.  Turns out it was President Bill Clinton, working with the Republicans, not just a Democratic Party effort.

The reporter, Mr Glenn Kessler, does note that she was call on this when she make her remarks on the Senate floor on 29 June 2011.  Thus, Mr Kessler thinks that her near identical remarks on the Senate floor on 4 March 2013 shows a decided lack of ability to learn.

In the last 50 years only one party balanced the budget, and that party is the Democratic party.  Bill Clinton and the Democratic Congress, the only party that ever balanced the budget.  So spare me the lectures from my friends on the other side of the aisle about how they are the ones that know how to do it.  No, they don’t.
As the article says, it just isn't so.

If we don't understand the past we are going to make mistakes going forward.  Remember Lord Keynes? Regards  —  Cliff
