The EU

Google says the EU requires a notice of cookie use (by Google) and says they have posted a notice. I don't see it. If cookies bother you, go elsewhere. If the EU bothers you, emigrate. If you live outside the EU, don't go there.

Professor Glenn Beck

Or so author Amity Shlaes characterizes him in this piece at Real Clear Politics.

Ms Shlaes is the author of The Forgotten Man:  A New History of the Great Depression, reviewed by me here. She also serves as a senior fellow in economic history at the Council on Foreign Relations.

The thrust of her article is that Mr Beck is encouraging people to read.  He impacts the rankings on Amazon by his book discussions.  Not a mere plug, but an hour discussion of the book and what it is saying.  As these books are not on the canon of liberal arts faculties, this action on the part of Mr Beck has caused some backlash from the professors.

We do need to be listening to all sides.

For all of his bluster and hyperbole, Glenn Beck is a rather intelligent man...and like all men....given occasionally to bad conclusions. That hardly makes him worse than others.
